Mountain Parks Electric and its power suppliers award more than $30,000 in college/vo-tech scholarships to local high school seniors

ON May 12, AT ITS 69th ANNUAL MEETING IN GRANBY, the Mountain Parks Electric (MPE) Board of Directors awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships for local, college-bound high school seniors. New this year: MPE, in honor of its long-time employee who touched so many lives in the community, awarded one Rosemary Knerr Memorial Scholarship to a student from each of the three local public school districts. Local high school scholarship recipients include:

 

  • Nicholas Lawrence – $2,500 Rosemary Knerr Memorial Scholarship
  • Emma Enebo - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Abigail Turner - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Ryan Christianson - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Cole Walker - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Railee Granger - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Madeline VanBemmelen - $1,000 Basin Electric Scholarship
  • Janna McNulty - $1,000 Tri-State G&T and Mountain Parks Electric Matching Scholarship
  • Sydney Ritschard – $2,500 Rosemary Knerr Memorial Scholarship
  • Ralin Corrales - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Garrett Miller - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Joshua O’Hotto - $1,000 Mountain Parks Electric and Tri-State G&T Matching Scholarship
  • Hannah Dilley – $2,500 Rosemary Knerr Memorial Scholarship
  • Nicolas Martin - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Vo-Tech Scholarship
  • Martha Elze - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Austin Bertron - $2,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship
  • Kacie Babcock - $1,000 Mountain Parks Electric Scholarship Committee Scholarship

 

MPE’s scholarships come from its educational trust, which is funded by unclaimed patronage capital from MPE’s membership.

 

“It gives Mountain Parks Electric great satisfaction to support the local youth as they further their education,” said Tom Sifers, MPE’s General Manager. “These scholarships are just another example of our steadfast commitment to the communities that we serve.”
