| All MPEI meters are tested before installation. We also retest or exchange meters periodically to ensure accuracy. It is highly improbable that meters run fast; when they malfunction - they usually under-record usage. There is no charge for a meter test, as long as the meter has not been tested for two years. If the meter has been tested in the past two years and you request another check, there is a $24 fee if it is found to be within industry standards set by the PUC. |

| Meter Tampering | ||||||||||||
| MPEI's meter, equipment or other property - whether on a consumer's premises or elsewhere - is not to be tampered with for any reason. MPEI is not liable for injury to any person or persons resulting from tampering with or attempting to repair or maintain any MPEI equipment. |

| Meter Reading and Access | ||||||||||||
| MPEI must have access to your meter at all times for maintenance, meter reading and emergency situations (e.g. fires). | ||||||||||||
