Electricity and water do not mix! Keep all appliances, especially hair dryers and
radios, away from wet hands, sinks and puddles. Unplug appliances before
cleaning them. Even an appliance that is turned off can create a shock.
Other safety rules to follow: |
» Repair or replace worn or frayed electric cords.
» Pull cords out of outlets by the plug head, not
by the cord.
» Never carry an appliance by its cord.
» Do not run a cord under a rug or furniture; it
may become damaged or overheat.
» Keep kites, model airplanes, boats or trailers,
fishing poles, hang gliders and parachutes
away from power lines.
» Carry and use tools and ladders so that they
are kept away from power lines, including the
line that connects to your home.
» Keep flammable items away from light bulbs
and anything with a heating element. |
