Power Line Safety
More than 10 percent of residential electrocutions in 1998 were related to antennas and
ladders. When installing or taking down radio and CB antennas and when using ladders
to clean windows and gutters, paint the house or trim trees, be mindful of overhead
power lines.

Just to Be Safe ...

Substation Safety
The “Danger—Keep Out’ or “Warning—High Voltage” signs on substation fences are there for your protection. Substations convert high-voltage power from transmission lines into lower voltage electricity to supply homes and businesses? Substation equipment is always exposed to high-voltage. Some substation components could be energized at more than 100,000 volts.
